How to Convert PDF to PNG on iPhone and iPad

Convert PDF pages to PNG images on iPhone or iPad using Safari. Learn when screenshots are enough and when a full PDF converter gives better results.

On iPhone and iPad, the fastest way to turn a PDF page into an image is often a screenshot. But if you need full-page output or multiple pages, a browser-based converter is a better fit.

Use RasterMint in Safari

RasterMint works in Safari on iPhone and iPad. The PDF is processed in the browser, so you do not need to install an app.

  1. Open RasterMint in Safari.
  2. Tap the upload area and choose a PDF from Files.
  3. Select 72, 150, or 300 DPI.
  4. Convert the PDF.
  5. Preview and download the PNG files.

For multi-page files, downloading all pages as a ZIP is usually easier on iPad or desktop. On iPhone, downloading selected pages one by one may be more comfortable.

When a Screenshot Is Enough

Use a screenshot if:

  • You only need the visible part of one page.
  • The image is for a quick message.
  • Perfect resolution does not matter.

Avoid screenshots if the output needs to be full-page, readable, or reusable in a presentation, website, or archive.

Quality Tips for Mobile

Choose 150 DPI or 300 DPI if the PDF page has small text, charts, or diagrams. 72 DPI is faster and creates smaller files, but 150 DPI or 300 DPI is usually better when the image will be shared beyond a quick chat.

Summary

Screenshots are fine for quick captures. For full-page PDF to PNG conversion on iPhone or iPad, use RasterMint in Safari so each page is rendered as a real PNG image.
